The students answered the questions: What Makes a Person a Christian? They looked at several passages of scripture including Matthew 4:17-22, Matthew 9:9, and John 1:43 Session 2: In session 2, the students learned exactly what “Following Him” looks like. Session 5: The following comes directly from the Follower Closing in our Student Study Book and is basically a call to action, “You’ve reached the end of this book, and of your study. The Student Book also includes 4 follow up Devotions for students to complete at home. Thank you parents for allowing Bro. Cory and I to take your students to events like these and for trusting us with them. Also thank you to our amazing Adult Leaders for being willing to go and minister to students with us! -Mrs. Kara What is a "Foundry" A foundry is a factory that produces metal castings. Metals are cast into shapes by melting them into a liquid, pouring the metal in a mold, and removing the mold material or casting after the metal has solidified after cooling. The most common metals processed are Biblical Foundation This is a more modern take on the imagery of the potter and the clay of the Old Testament, found in Jeremiah 18:3-4, 3 So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4 And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do. and Isaiah 64:8, 8 But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. Application Our main motto is, "Where Lives are Reformed." Just as raw metal is melted down and poured into a mold to make something new, God works on us to form us into the Image of Christ.
The goal of everything involved with FBCK Youth Ministries is to see the Gospel change student's lives from salvation, through the discipleship process, with the goal of creating Biblically and theologically mature Christians that can not only share but defend their faith, students who love God and each other as Christ has loved us, and seek to impact those around them with His Love! |
